Client: Los Angeles Trial Law Firm
Challenge: A plaintiffs trial law firm specializing in sexual abuse cases represented a woman in both a civil and criminal lawsuit involving one of the most high-profile sexual assault matters in the country. In anticipation of the jury’s verdict for the criminal case, the law firm wanted to ensure their client and the lawyers released a statement on the impact of the decision, whatever the jury decides. However, this presented a few challenges since the firm wanted to protect the woman’s identity and the timing of the verdict was uncertain.
Work: Berbay developed a PR plan and timeline centered around ensuring the woman’s identity remained confidential. We drafted press releases for each potential outcome and crafted statements from the lead attorney and client that captured the magnitude of the case and potential verdict. We did this while coordinating with multiple parties involved in this case.
Result: Within minutes of the verdict being rendered, we coordinated a multi-week PR campaign securing extensive media coverage in outlets such as ABC News, Associated Press, CBS News, CNN, Good Morning America, Law and Crime, New York Post, Reuters, The Guardian, Vanity Fair, Yahoo News and many more.
A few weeks after this PR initiative, we leveraged the success to support other pitching efforts, resulting in additional media placements.
