Every morning, as part of my daily routine, I check Facebook. Scrolling through the daily junk of status updates and posts about “going to the gym,” I stumbled upon one good picture with words, or as it’s called in the social media world a “meme.” The message of that meme stuck with me the whole day.
Memes can be described as a picture with an action taking place. Words are added that weren’t the original caption, but appear to fit in. It creates comedic relief while sending a specific message. With the popularity of memes rising, a witty meme can spread throughout the world at the speed of light. Memes can be a great marketing tool that companies can utilize on their website, blog or Facebook page to attract viewers and, in turn, new followers/subscribers.
Creating a meme takes very little time and is completely free. There are free website meme generators such as, www.quickmeme.com/make, as well as phone apps. The tools are there to create a memorable meme that will capture the viewer’s attention and provide a laugh that can keep your company top-of-mind.
Memes won’t make you a millionaire overnight, but if it helps you gain the attention of a prospective client, then it is well worth it.
Do you think memes can help your business?
