The challenge
The president of J.L. Patterson & Associates, a national woman-owned civil engineering firm, wanted to increase name recognition for her professionals and raise the company’s profile. The firm wanted media coverage for several prestigious projects throughout California and across the country.
The work
Over the course of several years, Berbay developed press releases and media pitches on trends in the transportation industry. In addition, we identified several prestigious rankings lists for which the firm qualified. Compelling nominations were crafted for the firm and various professionals, including those eligible for “rising stars.”

The result
As a result of our efforts to keep the firm on the media’s radar, Civil + Structural Engineer, a prominent industry publication, featured the president on the magazine’s cover. It ran an extensive profile on her successful, nearly 30-year career in the industry. Berbay also secured placement for one of the young professionals on Engineering News-Record’s “Top 20 Under 40 List.” In addition to article and interview placements in various industry and local business publications, Berbay garnered a tremendous amount of media coverage for the firm’s projects.
